Richard Payne

Richard Payne is a working photographer living in Sydney, Australia.  He regularly visits Europe and Asia and photographs things as they happen.  His pictures are not staged.  He is happy working with film or digital cameras as long as the end image conveys the richness and intensity that only life itself can exude.  Payne has been shortlisted for photographic prizes for his work in and around Sydney.  The Hong Kong series, as shown on arts.co.uk, exudes the character of the place and the people that live there. There is a bravery in the attitude to the subject and yet a warmth in gaining the trust of the people that feature as his subjects.  Often the relationship between the human subject and their surrounds is wholey symbiotic.
