Nigel Dicker

On my return from Australia, over thirty years ago, i took an office in Rose Street in Covent Garden. It was only then that i discovered that the market, which had been active in the area for over 300 years, was soon to move South of the river Thames, to Nine Elms.  I decided to capture its essence, if i could, before it moved. I planned to publish a book at the time and my publishers were suggesting John Betjeman to provide the words, and verbal context for my pictures.  Over thirty years later, to commemorate the anniversary of that momentus move, i am pleased to be exhibiting a selection of the pictures on arts.co.uk and i hope you will enjoy them as much as i have enjoyed producing them.
