Louise Diggle
I studied art at the City and Guilds and at CCAT.
My principle guiding interesting my work lies in light – whether in the lanes of Pembrokeshire, the canal du Midi or reflections in rivers or lakes. I am intrigued by the way light hits and transforms objects and the landscape and provokes a strong emotional and aesthetic response. I am also interested in exploring colour, structure and shape: shape against shape, colour against colour.
In my landscapes I prefer to work on the spot , going back many times – again, the sensation of being there is very much part of my work. I paint and draw mainly in London and Pembrokeshire in oils and pastels and examples of my work can be found in numerous collections in Britian and abroad.
