Maud Casaux–Alsina

With a French background, Maud was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the daughter of a High Court Judge.  Self taught, Maud painted as a hobby, selling her paintings to private collectors.

Married to a rich land-owning polo player with a private plane, she became bored of her upper class life style, and divorced her husband.  Packing her life into two suitcases, she took a first class British Airways flight to London. *

Her travels took her to France, where she met friends and sold her paintings.  Later, she moved to Milan and from there to Portofino.  There she met the Director of the Museum of Modern Art in Portofino, Daniele Crippa, who has two of her paintings in his private collection.

Maud’s “blue” series has been painted entirely with her thumb
